Throughout its time of existence, Google has introduced a few landmark smartphones which provided us with incredible performance, take amazing shots, enjoy the wonders of the Google Assistant and much more. These mobile phones are truly refined and Google has introduced many new features and functions. In this article, we are going to be analyzing a few of Google’s most recent releases, the Google Pixel 2 and the Google Pixel XL 2 and pitting them against each other as well as their own version 1’s as well.

Display:

While the 5-inch display has become really rare among Android smartphones; a lot of smartphone users find it to be more convenient and easy to use. A 5-inch display mobile phone enables you easy to carry and is comfortable to hold. The Google Pixel keeps up on that end and has a 5-inch display with an AMOLED panel along with a 1080p resolution.

Similar to Google Pixel, the Google Pixel 2 comes with a 5-inch display and Full High Definition resolution. The display is really bright and vivid with a classic screen. The mobile phone has thick bezels and one of the best thing about Google Pixel 2 is that you will not have any issues with screen burn.

The Google Pixel XL which is essentially the ‘plus’ version of the Google Plus has a 5.5-inch display with the same AMOLED screen. The colors are really vivid and to many, due to its larger size, it’s better than the Pixel when it comes to the experience delivered by VR. Compared to a lot of high-end phones from different brands such as Samsung, the screen definitely stands out!

The Google Pixel XL 2 is slimmer and curvier and consists of the Poled display. It also consists of a QHD+ 2880 X 1440 resolution. While the screen is not as vivid as Google Pixel XL, the QHD+ technology, however, makes your movie or TV show watching experience so much better. You can also enjoy the Google Daydream View in order to have some fun with virtual reality.

Design:

The body of the Google Pixel is made of metal and glass. This, in turn, decreases any risk of scratches on the back of the mobile phone and also enables to evade from any pointless bumps of the camera. The mobile phone comes with a fingerprint sensor that is beneath the camera sensor. Both the sensors are hedged together with a glass panel.

The Google Pixel 2 has a very aesthetic feel and consists of IP67 waterproof which means that the mobile phone can sustain under one to two feet of water for about 50 to 60 minutes. The mobile phone is designed completely with metal and glass and the camera sensor is enclosed in a glass panel.

The Google Pixel XL comes with a premium design, a mix of metal and glass on both its front and back side. With thick bezels both top and down, the mobile phone provides a classy look. The mobile phone measures 153 x 76 x 8.58 mm and consists of a fingerprint sensor.

The Google Pixel XL 2 has a large part of the aluminum design at the back and has a very immersive texture and design. Similar to Google Pixel 2, the mobile phone comes with IP67 waterproofing technology and also consists of Gorilla Glass 5. The Google Pixel XL 2 has a three-dimensional curvy border around it.

Camera:

The Google Pixel lacks in the camera department, where most Android mobile phones have over 16 MP to 20 MP rear cameras, the Google Pixel comes with a 12.3 MP rear camera with dual LED flash and an 8 MP front camera. The rear camera enables to detect face and has laser autofocus function.

On the other hand, the Google Pixel 2 comes with a 12.2 MP rear camera and 8 MP front camera. Along with that, the rear camera has a f/1.8 aperture and the front camera has f/2.4 aperture. The camera has great features, for example, it can capture a slow-motion video of 240 fps.

The Google Pixel XL consists of a 12.3 MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, dual LED flash, and gyro Electronic Image Stabilization technology. The mobile phone has an 8MP front camera with f/2.4 aperture. The rear camera enables to capture 1080p video and 720 p video with 240 fps with no issues.

Well, it seems like Google likes it’s cameras horribly alike. Similar to the above phones, the Google Pixel XL 2 also comes with a 12.2 MP rear camera and an 8 MP front camera. Along with that, the rear camera has a f/1.8 aperture and the front camera has a f/2.4 aperture.

Battery:

The Google Pixel consists of a non-removable battery of 2770 mAh. The mobile phone seems to have a great battery life. Though after 3 to 4 hours of heavy use like playing high graphics games or watching a Full High Definition movie without any pause, the battery drains drastically.

Just like Google Pixel, the Pixel 2 is better for only moderate use. With a 2,700 mAh battery, it will last all day if you only take phone calls, send text messages, lightly browse on the internet, send emails etc. With a 100% charge, if you watch a High Definition video with full brightness for one hour, you will observe that the battery has decreased to 60%.

Unlike Google Pixel or Google Pixel 2, the Google Pixel XL is packed with a powerful battery of 3450 mAh. This is a great decision made by Google Pixel as watching a Full High Definition video or playing high graphics game on 2k resolution will drain the battery at a faster rate.

The Google Pixel XL 2 comes with a more powerful battery of 3520 mAh. If you spend most of your time browsing on the internet on your mobile phone, or watch an hour video in Full High Definition, you may need to charge the mobile phone at the end of the day.
